"England, please, don't leave me." I cry. England is there, in my arms, and I'm hugging his thin body like my life depends on it. I feel guilty for everything I've ever said to him, disgusted at myself, and guilty that I never told him the truth, of how much I loved him. Right now we're all alone in the Annex, searching for more lumps of magic, and we've been attacked by It. England is dying. I know it.
And it's my fault.
"W-why would I do that, now? I won't g-give up this easy." England gasps. He smiles. The smile only makes me feel worse; it is lined with blood and doesn't even begin to touch his eyes.
"Oh, England, why?!" I shout, burying my face in his chest like I used to do as a young child. He runs one weak, shaking hand through my hair and tries to laugh it off. He knows not to cry too, or else risk making me panic.
"Come now, love, b-be brave. Aren't you a hero?"
"No! I don't want to be a hero anymore. Heroes always end up hurt."

"England!" Came the desperate cry of a certain American, covering his eyes and shouting as he, Italy and England were engulfed in a bright light. "England!" He shouted once more.
As the light faded, America blinked his eyes open. His vision was fuzzy, for he had lost Texas while battling the Thing. As his eyes adjusted as best they could, Italy came up beside him. "America! Are you alright?"
America didn't answer, but instead walked over to England, who was still standing where he had been when he fought the Thing. "England..." he whispered. "You..."
"It's gone!" Italy exclaimed. "The Thing! It's gone!" The Italian clapped his hands together happily. "England, you did it! You defeated that monster!"
England just stood there, saying nothing. America came up behind him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "England? Are...are you okay?"
England's head was bowed as he responded finally. "Y-yeah..."
Italy spoke up next. "America. I've been looking around...and I can't seem to find your glasses
